145: Mitsubachi San's Airbrush Workshop

Remember the famous Mitsubachi san? She is one of my doll artist idols! I attended her exhibition last summer and I was carried away to another world. Lucky me, had a chance to learn a little tips and tricks form her twice! First was the basic customization day in summer. Second was 2 weeks ago, while I was in Tokyo. I was lucky enough to be 1 of the 6 students who get into her airbrush workshop at Junie Moon. And I just wanna share new things I learned here.

จำมิสึบาจิซัง ที่เคยเล่าให้ฟังได้มะคะ คุณมิสึบาจิเป็น Doll Artist ที่มีชื่อเสียงมากในญี่ปุ่นตอนนี้ เป็นไอดอลของฉันคนนึงเลยทีเดียวค่ะ กรี๊ดกร๊าดๆ เมื่อกลางปีที่ผ่านมา ฉันได้มีโอกาสไปเห็นผลงานของคุณมิสึบาจิใน exhibition เป็นครั้งแรก ก็เล่นเอาอึ้ง ทึ่ง ตะลึง กรี๊ดสลบไปหลายรอบ แถมยังโชคดี มีโอกาสเรียนรู้ขั้นตอนการคัสตอมตุ๊กตาแบบพื้นฐาน แล้วก็ได้คำแนะนำมาเพียบเลย รอบนี้ไปอีกเมื่อเดือนที่แล้วค่ะ ฉันก็ยังโชคดี จับพลัดจับผลู เป็น 1 ใน 6 คน ที่ได้ไปเข้า Airbrush Workshop อย่างจริงจัง กับคุณมิสึบาจิที่จูนนี่มูนอีก (กรี๊ดดดดดดด) เลยเอามาเล่าต่อ เผื่ออะไรที่ฉันเรียนรู้มา จะเป็นประโยชน์กับทุกๆคนที่สนใจบ้างนะคะ

Starts with choosing the right colour. I was wrong to think that I could just spray the dark colour in one go. Actually I have to gradually increase the intensity to make it looks smoother. So I started with something + white or light colours. Putting leveling thinner into the plate, then mixing acrylics in. Makes sure the colour is not too thick or it would clog the airbrush head. To tell if the mixture is right, try spraying it on paper a few times.

เริ่มแรก ก็ผสมสีกันก่อนค่ะ ฉันเองเป็นพวกชอบสีเข้มๆบนหน้าตุ๊กตานะ แบบว่าเห็นชัดดี *-* แต่จริงๆแล้วการจะได้เมคอัพเข้มๆ มันไม่ใช่ว่าจะพ่นพรวดไปทีเดียวแล้วเข้มเลย (อย่างที่ฉันเคยคิด) อะค่ะ แต่จริงๆแล้วเราต้องค่อยๆพ่นจากจางๆไปเข้มขึ้นตะหาก (อะธ่อ โง่อยู่นานอีกแระ) สีที่ผสมสีแรกๆ ก็ผสมขาวๆไว้ก่อนเลยค่ะ รอบสองสามค่อยลดลง เวลาผสมก็เอา Leveling Thinner ใส่ถาดเงินๆอะค่ะ แล้วก็ตักสีเติมตามชอบ แต่ระวังอย่าให้ข้นไปนะคะ ไม่งั้นหัวแอร์บรัชจะตัน ลองจางๆแล้วพ่นลนกระดาษเช็คหลายๆรอบก็ได้ค่ะ

When using airbrush, adjust the airbrush head then try it on paper a few times too. Usually the adjusting nut is at the end of the head. But it's different from model to model. Check your airbrush manual for this. Oh forgot to tell you that we use 3mm head in this workshop.

เมื่อได้สีที่ต้องการแล้ว เราก็เทสีลงในแอร์บรัช แล้วเวลาพ่น ก็ปรับๆความใหญ่เล็กหนาบางของเส้นซักหน่อยค่ะ โดยมากที่ปรับมันอยู่ที่ท้ายหัวแอร์บรัชอะค่ะ แต่แต่ละรุ่นอาจจะไม่เหมือนกัน ลองดูคู่มือประกอบนะคะ อ้อ ลืมบอกไปว่า อันนี้เราใช้หัวประมาณ 3mm ค่ะ

The compressure, the smaller, the weaker air produced and sometimes causes big texture. Big ones normally comes with adjustment head, but they are usually bigger and heavier. At the workshop, we used the TAMIYA's basic set. So I guess something about that size is fine for beginners.

ปั๊มลมก็ ยิ่งใหญ่ ลมยิ่งแรง สีก็เนียนขึ้นค่ะ ปั๊มเล็กบางทีทำให้สีเป็นจุดๆ โดยมากปั๊มใหญ่ก็จะมาแบบมีที่ปรับลมได้ด้วย ไม่ต้องกลัวหน้าตุ๊กตาปลิวหาย โฮะๆๆๆๆๆ แต่อย่างว่า มันก็ย่อมหนักกว่า ใหญ่กว่ามากๆ ที่ Workshop นี้ฉันใช้อันเล็กสุดๆ ชุดbasic set ของ Tamiya ค่ะ ซึ่งก็โอเคเลยค่ะ สำหรับเริ่มหัดใช้

Now Let's try on the lids first. I wasn't too familiar with the head provided. Took me a big while to work it out >_< อะ ลองพ่นบนเปลือกตากันก่อน หัวแอร์บรัชในรูปนี่แข็งมากอยู่ค่ะ กดไม่ไป -0-ลองอยู่หลายนานเลย กว่ามันจะยอมพ่นดีๆ -0-

Incase things goes wrong, we can either scrub the mess out, or wipe it with leveling thinner. But using thinner too many times could damage the plastic. So I chose to scrub it out again and again and again before I could get it right

ในกรณีที่ชิปไป้ซะแร้ว เราทำได้ทั้งขัดออกกะเช็ดออกค่ะ ถึงการขัดจะดูเป็นงานใช้แรงงาน ไม่เหมาะกับสาวงาม แต่จริงๆแล้ว มันปลอดภัยกับพลาสติกมากกว่าอะค่ะ ใช้ทินเนอร์เช็ดมันจะทำให้หน้าน้องแตกเป็นเกล็ด!! ซ่อมไม่ได้นะคะ ขอบอก เหอๆ กว่าจะสำเร็จออกมา ฉันก็ขัดแล้วขัดอีกค่ะ หลายรอบมาก ^^;

Ok.. see the rectangle thing in the back? It sucked out the thinner smell. Very useful. เห็นไอ้เหลี่ยมๆข้างหลังใช่มะคะ มันเรียกว่าไรไม่รู้ แต่มันเป็นเครื่องดูดกลิ่น ทำให้ไม่เสียชีวิตขณะทำงาน ^^;

Now let's get start with the face. Mitsubachi san kindly helped me a lot T_T Thank you so much. อ๊าาาาาาาา จะพ่นหน้าละนะ!!!!! คุณมิสึบาจิซังช่วยทั้งลุ้นทั้งสอนทั้งให้กำลังใจอย่างรุนแรง ขอบคุณค่ะ ><

Look at the way she held the face plate. She put tissue under the plate and test the airbrush on paper first. Once got it right, she started from inside the sockers and circling around outward. It seemed easy when she was doing it. But after trying I know that this thing needs lots of practice.

อ๊ะ อ๊ะ สังเกตวิธีที่คุณมิสึบาจิจับชิ้นเฟสเพลทนะคะ เอาทิชชู่รองข้างใต้ก่อน อย่างมีสกุลรุนชาติมาก ทั้งนี้ก็เพื่อลองพ่นเข้าไปในลูกตาก่อนค่ะ จนกว่าจะได้น้ำหนักที่ต้องการ แล้วค่อยๆวนออกมารอบๆนอก ตอนชีทำก็ทำแบบ ชื๊บ~ ชื๊บ~ เสร็จ -*- ไวมาก ของงี๊ต้องหัดบ่อยๆอะค่ะ กว่าน้ำหนักมือจะพอดี ชื๊บ ชื๊บ ได้

Here we go! อะ ลุย

Mitsubachi san was showing me how to circle around. คุณมิสึบาจิกำลังวนให้ดูค่ะ "วนแบบนี้นะเทอ"

The first layer of eye shadow พ่นชั้นแรก เรียบร้อย

After the second layer is done, I painted the lips with pastels and acrylics. Cheeks with pastels. พ่นชั้นสองเรียบร้อยค่ะ แล้วฉันก็เติมเส้นกลางปากด้วยสีอครีลิค แล้วก็แต่งปากแต่งแก้ม ด้วยสี pastel เจ้าเก่า ^^;

Then I added a little bit of lower lashes with acrylics. Same colour as the lids. And the girl is ready to be assembled back. เติมขนตาล่าง ด้วยสีเดียวกับที่ใช้กับเปลือกตาค่ะ ไฮโซวๆๆ

Acrylic used. สีอครีลิคอันนี้ ที่ใช้เขียนเพิ่มเติม

Finishing up with flat clear. Actually we could spray this along the way, layer by layer too. Too much clear would cause some unwanted white marks.

ตบท้ายด้วยเคลียร์ค่ะ จริงๆแล้วเราจะพ่นเป็นระยะๆ ระหว่างทำงานแต่ละขั้นก็ได้เหมือนกันนะคะ แต่พ่นมากไปจะเป็นคราบขาวๆได้ ควรพ่นแต่พองาม

Tadahhhhh~ (will change her hair colour soon ^^; ). อ่ะ เสร็จ เรียบร้อย งดงามพอไหวมะคะ

Other students' works. And this is their first time on airbrush! ของเพื่อนๆคนอื่นๆ ที่แอบดูแม่บ้านๆ เพิ่งจับแอร์บรัชกันครั้งแรก *-*

It was the great afternoon at Junie Moon. I learned a lot!! I have been trying to use airbrush by myself for many times and didn't even know if I got it wrong or right. Having Mitsubachi Sensei taught me all this gave me more confidence to use more airbrush in the future. And actually, I think it's easier than pastel!! Honestly!!

แฮ่ จบแระค่ะ เป็นบ่ายที่แจ่มไปเรยอีกวันนึงที่จุนนี่มูน จริงๆฉันเองก็เคยใช้แอร์บรัชมาเองบ้างแล้วล่ะค่ะ แต่ก็งูๆปลาๆมาตลอด T_T มีคุณมิสึบาจิมาช่วยสอน ก็ทำให้มั่นใจมากขึ้น ต่อไปคงจะพ่นแหลกได้อย่างเซลฟ์ โฮะๆๆๆๆๆ จริงๆแล้ว ทำไปทำมา คิดว่ามันควบคุมง่ายกว่าสีพาสเทลอีกนะนี่ *-*
